2010: Day 366

I can't believe I've made it through a whole year, and I must admit I am rather proud of myself. I've learned so very much and found a love for photography in the process.
I'm looking forward to 2011.
Happy New Year! ^_^

2010: Day 364

More assisting with photoshooting. It was a really wonderful day. ^_^

(I started this project on New Years Eve 2009, so there will actually be 366 pictures for this year.)

2010: Day 362

Jacob slept in my bed last night, so I awoke to snuggly cuteness. <3

2010: Day 361

"I hope my death makes your holidaze brighter."
A note found outside of our local health food store. One can only hope it was attached to a Christmas Tree as some sort of protest

2010: Day 359

My hair. ^_^
I just woke up from a nap, and it's completely unstyled, but there it is.
Happy Holidays everybody.

2010: Day 358

Adventures is fixing Jeremiah's hair.
(Speaking of hair, I got a haircut. It will most likely be tomorrow's picture.)

2010: Day 357

The Goodwill is a goldmine of awkward clothing.
(With, of course, some real buried treasures.)

2010: Day 356

Today I began assisting my photographer friend, Shannon.
(I'm carrying equipment, setting up lights and such. It was really fun, plus I'm learning a lot. It's like an apprenticeship.)

2010: Day 355

Mesmerized by the squiggly lights.
(That grin is mostly him humoring me. :P)

2010: Day 351

I found this little owl under rather eerie circumstances. I think he's an omen. Hopefully not an evil one.
(Either way, Omen is now his name.)

2010: Day 350

For a delicious change, add a bit of tomato paste to your bowl of macaroni and cheese.
(Okay, I know it looks a bit gross, but it's the best. I promise.)

(She's posing in her new coat.)

2010: Day 348

I now have a whole collection of pictures with Jeremiah wearing strange things on his face. I should make trading cards or something.

2010: Day 347

The weather outside and the reflection of me within. Taken from my bedroom window. (It snowed all day long.)

2010: Day 345

An awesome little paper creature that someone made Jessica. It reminds me of something out of a Shaun Tan book.
(P. S. If you haven't read anything of his you should definitely look into it.)

My brother is so very sweet. ^_^

2010: Day 341

Ahh...magnetic poetry. I like you quite a lot.
(Although, I'm beginning to dislike my iPhone camera more and more every day I spend with my Nikon.)

2010: Day 340

Jessica and I spent most of the day looking for new clothes for school. We were decently successful. (More importantly, we got to play photoshoot.)

2010: Day 339

My new, beautiful, amazing camera. I am very much in love.
(I'm going to finish out this year on my phone, then do next year with my camera.)

2010: Day 338

Little baby Trevin has finally been born. Yesterday.
He is just beautiful. <3

(I am going to post the remaining photos of 2010 as they come.)

Some backstory...

Hmmm...how to begin this?
I suppose I should really start at the beginning. 2009 that is. November.
I bought myself an iPhone so that I could take decent photographs during a visit with extended family. I was meeting my cousins for the first time and I wanted to capture all the memories that I was sure to make. It was the first time in years that I had the ability to take half-way decent photographs. I went camera crazy. I do believe that I was in love.
A few weeks later I was back home, lying in bed, when I was struck with inspiration. I would upload one photograph to Facebook every day for a year. Not an original idea, but exciting just the same. It was easy enough with my new phone. Uploading photos was really very simple. I wrote myself a note so as not to forget my genius plan, and that was that.
Cut to a year later and I am almost complete with my project. It is Day 337 and I honestly cannot believe that I have done it. And beyond just gaining a sense of accomplishment, I have learned a lot. It turns out that I really, really enjoy photography. A lot. I also really love documenting my life. I don't think that I have the heart to give this up at the end of the year.
That's why I have made this blog.
That's why I have a $600 dollar camera arriving in the mail tomorrow.
Because I am absolutely crazy. And absolutely, head-over-heels in love with this project, with photography.
So here's to year two.
Here's to A Year in Pictures: 2011.
