2016: Day 120

I don't recommend procrastinating your storytelling homework.

2016: Day 118 and 119

Today was the final day of my Library Buildings class. I feel really lucky to have taken this class with such great classmates and such a kind and knowledgeable professor (who treated us to drinks and food today).

We are best friends and I am not even sorry about all these pictures because we are best friends.

2016: Day 117

I have been trying to broaden my culinary horizons through Pinterest. Sadly, this lemon ricotta and spinach pasta was just okay.
Maybe if I had fresher ingredients instead of ones I forgot about in my fridge for awhile...

2016: Day 116

I sent in my absentee ballot today. The envelope it came in even included a considerate little "I voted" sticker, so that I didn't feel left out. :D

2016: Day 114 and 115

Sometimes, even though you are headed straight for finals, you think: "I could eat this veggie burger while watching Game of Thrones with my boyfriend over Skype."
And sometimes, your wifi is crap and decides: "It doesn't matter what you want to do, I'm not going to play the show properly anyway, you should probably just go to sleep."
Goodnight universe.

She missed me while I was gone. I woke up to this this morning and she hasn't really left my side since.

2016: Day 113

I must have taken a hundred pictures at the different libraries that we visited.
(For yesterday, the second day of my field trip.)

2016: Day 112

My classmates and I are in Chicago on a field trip. Hooray for library buildings!
(And sorry about your head Kyle.)

2016: Day 111

You buy a cat a fancy new toy and she plays with the box.
(Actually, she really likes her new toy too. :D)

2016: Day 110

In which I eat fancy pizza with these two wonderfully kind friends. :)

2016: Day 109

Tonight I helped out at a storytime for kids of graduate and PhD students. The parents kids had a great time making these rain sticks. And I had a great time being around kids for once.
(You would think that going to school for children's librarianship would involve more children.)

2016: Day 108

Happy first birthday to my dear little Robin. ❤️
(I think that she enjoyed her fancy birthday cake.)

2016: Day 107

There was a photo booth at work today. That second face is 100% real life Jen, wondering if the camera had gone off yet. It is also the one that Facebook recognized as looking most like me, so...that's good to know.

2016: Day 106

I walked in on Robin in the bath. It was awkward for us both.

2016: Day 105

Wearing my Orphan Cat shirt to Orphan Black night. I have reached peak nerd levels.

2016: Day 104

It was late but I wanted tacos so I made tacos. They weren't particularly attractive tacos, but they were mine.

2016: Day 103

Her first birthday is this Sunday.

2016: Day 102

Every day that I work, I park in a lot near what is clearly a murder shack. If I go missing, you know where to look.
(Don't worry parents, I don't park here at night.)

2016: Day 101

Tonight one of my professors had us over for dinner and I got to meet his dog, Mac.
I tried for a long time to get a good picture of Mac. I don't think I could have possibly asked for a better one.

2016: Day 100

It is hard to get anything done when your best friend(cat) is always inviting you to nap.

2016: Day 99

Chocolate ice cream and Orphan Black. A perfect evening.
Fun fact I learned today! Whipped cream in a can was invented right here at University of Illinois.

2016: Day 98

So, I pretty much know how to knit now, at least at a very basic level. It is super exciting for me because everyone knows they don't let non-knitters become librarians.

2016: Day 97

Today was music day in storytelling class.
I am clearly cheating at grad school.

2016: Day 96

In which I found $13 on the ground on campus and then spent the rest of the day agonizing over whether or not it was mine to take.

2016: Day 95

Today I got another package from Alex. Her cards always make me laugh.
Now to settle in for the longest five months of our lives.

2016: Day 94

It was a torn jeans, homework, lazy kind of day. Exactly what I needed after such a busy week.

2016: Day 93

Today I painted wine glasses at a wonderfully fun bridal shower, and then spent a bunch of time trying to take a decent picture of said glasses. Lucky for me, Robin stepped in as a model.

2016: Day 92

I spotted this optimistic goose on the way home from work.
A puddle can be a pond if you believe.

2016: Day 91

Today was a struggle, a three hour drive back to Illinois on three hours of sleep to make it in time for my three hour long class. Thank goodness for this coffee Jake left in my car, it got me through the last hour.
