Thank you to my boss for the post-it colored cake pop.

2016: Day 197
For Tuesday, in which I visited a friend and played with her cats. Robin could smell them on my when I got home. This is her jealous face.

2016: Day 196
This morning was rainy and I wanted nothing more than to spend the day reading in bed. Robin felt the same I think.

2016: Day 195
My favorite cheese was sold out. And it wasn't even on sale! Why is this happening?!

2016: Day 193
I was a little sad today to be away from Jake on his birthday, but then this not-even-a-little-bit-dated-VHS I found at work reminded me that attitude is everything. Instead, I look forward to future holidays spent together.
It's like you always tell me Jake, I don't have to miss you because I know we will be together again soon. ❤️

2016: Day 191
Today I got a shirt with cats all over it from the girl's department of Target. Sometimes it is nice to be child-sized. :)
2016: Day 191
The very first event of iSchool Connections (of which I am now president, yay!) was a great success! We caught so many Pokemon, you guys.

2016: Day 188
Tonight at work a little girl ran up to the desk shouting "Librarians! Librarians!" and for the first time ever I realized that she was talking about me. Finally, I am doing the work that I have dreamed of and I feel the joy of that with my whole heart.
I feel about as happy and filled with wonderment about that as these two elephants appear to feel about falling in love.
How did I get to be so lucky?

2016: Day 186
Now that it is July I finally get to use my new planner. And change my Game of Thrones wall calendar over to the picture of Jon Snow. What a time to be alive.

2016: Day 182
It was a hard day, but Robin is okay and that is what matters.
(Halfway through the day I changed my outfit because sometimes that makes me feel better. This is my "trying to be an optimist" face. It worked.)

2016: Day 181
Part of one of my jobs involves destroying books (because they are government property). It is hard for me to do, but also strangely exciting at the same time.

2016: Day 179
My little doofus has spent the day napping. All that time running around her grandma and grandpa's house must have worn her out. :)

2016: Day 177
Our little group of youth services librarians. Thank you Spectrum for all of the amazing opportunities and experiences we got to have this weekend. I feel so blessed to be a part of this cohort. #alaspectrum

2016: Day 173
I ended my last shift at the Champaign Public Library hours before hopping on a plane to Orlando. I will miss my fine-exempt staff library card, but will relish forgetting the locker combination I never could get quite right.
(For yesterday.)
2016: Day 172
For Tuesday, a long and a hard day. In which I both picked him up and dropped him off at the airport.
Still, in this moment I was glad to have him beside me.
To meeting again in happier times.

2016: Day 170
Last Friday was my last day at the Douglass Branch Library for a little while. The staff there threw me a little going away party, with cake and a card and this cool new bag. I have lots of leftover cake and my heart is very warm. :)

2016: Day 168
I found this awesome little flyer at work today. I was from 1996, and it answered questions like: What can I even do on the Internet? ("Make travel reservations at any time of the day or night.") What computer specifications do I need? (11MB of free disk space and 8MB of RAM.) And, how much is the Internet going to cost me? (5 free hours a month and then $2.50 for every additional hour.)
Who would have guessed what our lives would be like 20 years later.
2016: Day 167
I saw this street art on my way to work this evening. I have been working quite a bit lately, but soon my hours will be shrinking.

2016: Day 159
This is my very happy face.
I am overwhelmingly excited to announce that, as of today, I am now the youth services grad assistant at the Urbana Free Library!
(I knew that interview went well. :D)

2016: Day 157
We said goodbye today, until the next time long distance becomes short.
This week marks a year apart.
Love you still Jake.
Sappy post complete.

2016: Day 154
Time for another exciting addition of "Is that library material still relevant?"
I think that my weeding skills will be greatly strengthened this summer.

2016: Day 152
Things I should really buy: toilet paper. (Pictured: The last of it.)
Things I bought today: Clothes and shoes.
