The kids in my little brother Jacob's class earn classroom-dollars for kind behavior and then they can spend them on prizes. Jacob bought me this little lion guy with his hard-earned prize money and I think it is one of the sweetest gifts that I have ever received.

This is me. Two days in and I am already losing my mind a little bit. The first week is always a little daunting as I try to figure out what needs to be done to succeed in my classes and balance my life.

Yesterday my dad and brother built a feeder for the poor winter birds, and today I took advantage of their desperation by getting a little closer than I normally could with my camera.

I love winter time. :) 

The icicles began to melt today but they will be back soon. We are bracing ourselves for some very cold weather.

I began the year slowly, and a bit sick. I also noticed how extraordinarily crooked my thumbnail is.
